Pixel art with a steaming mug, open book, and July 3, 2025 calendar. Text reads: 3 little joys that made my summer week so much sweeter.

This week was actually a little bit busier than normal, but that's okay. Busy weeks in the summer bring me so much joy since my husband is at work while I am home enjoying my break. I'm always looking for things to do and this week had a lot more social interaction and family time that I don't always get to have. There were plenty of moments that made me happy this week, but here are three of those little joys that lit up my days.

Little Joy # 1 – Dream Thrift Find

As you all are well aware, thrifting is something that I love to do. If you follow me on my socials, you would have seen that I was able to cross off a dream thrift find: a vintage handmade perpetual calendar. My jaw dropped when I was in Goodwill since it has been on my thrift wishlist for so long. None of the pieces were missing either! My husband helped me hang it up near the little entryway of our apartment and now it just brings me more joy every time I pass by it. I know, I know...I’m a 24-year-old grandma at heart, and this calendar might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m obsessed. Just look at it:

Little Joy # 2 – Family & Friend Time

Summer break for me means a lot of alone time, which is fine because I am enjoying the break away from work, but sometimes you do need to have some social interaction. My husband's grandparents were in town from Georgia so we got to spend the weekend with them. We played a whole lot of games together, which is always fun for me.

Along with that, I got to spend time with my family at SeaWorld on Tuesday which was great. I try to spend time once a week with my siblings, but during the weekdays I don't see my parents since they work. It was also nice to visit a theme park with them since we don't have the same park annual passes anymore. My husband and I have Disney while my family has Universal. Anyways, family time is always a highlight of my week, especially when it is spent at a theme park!

Beyond family time, I got to hang out with one of my best friends. We had lunch together and went to Barnes & Noble. Of course going to Barnes & Noble means leaving with a book! Which book do you think I picked up and which do you think she picked up?

Little Joy # 3 – Quiet Time at Home

Thrifting and family time are some of the best parts of my week, but honestly the moments of quiet time at home in between was another little joy that I had. I've been spending more time reading this week than I have all summer which has been nice. I love reading, but I can find it hard to become motivated to read sometimes. This week I started a book that I have had on hold on Libby for over ten weeks! It is First-Time Caller by B.K. Borison and at only a couple chapters in, it has been really good. The plot of the story is interesting and unique so I'm excited to see where it goes.

Of course, I don’t spend all my quiet time reading, I’ve also been watching all kinds of TV lately. I always am watching Below Deck and have been watching that with my mom and sister for a while now. I got sucked into Love Island and I am very curious to see who takes the prize this season. My other weekly watch now is Next Gen N.Y.C. which is just like all the drama filled Bravo shows, but with rich kids that are my age. Lastly, I am always binging something and this time it is Vanderpump Rules. What shows are you currently watching or what book are you reading?

Just remember that the joy that you find in each week doesn't always have to be from doing. If you have been along on the blogging journey for a few weeks now, you know that I find so much joy in my alone time and mundane tasks. This week has had some more moving pieces than other weeks, but I have still found so much joy. I am so thankful for all of the different moments that I have had this week!
