A Soft Reset

Sometimes the best way to keep going is to slow down first. I've been feeling the need to slow down my blog posting, not because I am struggling to write, but because I know that once August rolls around, the school year starts, and I will have far less time to write.

This isn’t a goodbye, just a soft reset. A little recalibration for what’s ahead. Starting this week, I’ll be posting once a week, every Sunday.

Why I’m Slowing Things Down

August is approaching quickly, which means I’ll be heading back to work. As a teacher, the slower days of summer are winding down, and with that shift comes less free time.

Moving to weekly posts will ease the pressure, allow me to share more intentional content, and give myself a bit more breathing room.

I’m not disappearing, I’ll still be posting regularly on socials. I’m just adjusting the rhythm. I’d rather show up with one good story than burn out chasing a schedule that no longer fits.

Switching from Summer Brain to Work Brain

In the next few weeks, my focus is shifting to lesson planning and classroom prep. Summer has been full of rest and fun, but my mindset is already starting to lean toward structure and routine. That means there’ll be less time for scrolling and spontaneous thrifting adventures, but that’s okay. It’s just part of the seasonal shift.

What You’ll Still Find Here

Even with the new posting rhythm, nothing’s really disappearing. You’ll still find cozy check-ins, reflective thoughts, little joys, and plenty of digital side quests.

And yes, there will still be thrifting. Always.

You can find me across socials at @OneBigSideQuest and on YouTube as @JustOneBigSideQuest. Next Sunday, we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled blog, see you then!

Let’s Reset Together

I hope you’ll slow down with me too. Let’s take this little side quest together and realign our routines.

I’d love to know: what’s one thing you’re making space for this month? It can be anything—rest, creativity, joy, structure.

Here’s to soft resets, small shifts, and staying grounded!

What’s one small routine, habit, or mindset shift you want to make space for this month?
